Paul Gilbert has donated his Ibanez PGM800 custom guitar to be auctioned to support Tony. This is a highly collectible guitar for Paul Gilbert fans, with a rich history of studio recordings, live performances and video demos.
The guitar was built in the Fujigen factory in Japan in 1995, and modified at the Ibanez Custom shop in LA to have a neck with a 25th fret. The humbuckers were recently updated to DiMarzio PAF Master pickups. Watch Paul put the guitar through its paces:
This guitar was used to record “Whole Lotta Sonata” (Mozart Sonata K.330, 3rd Movement) which appears on the Alligator Farm album.
Paul has signed the guitar on the back electronics cover. He has also included a treasure trove of bonus goodies in the case, including All Access and VIP laminates from solo tours and the MR. BIG 2011 Japan Tour; and a collection of his different guitar picks from those tours.
The guitar comes with a hand-written note from Paul, detailing the guitar’s history.
